*** REMINDER TO TEST THE BACKFLOW PREVENTER (RPZ) ***
Hot and dry weather equals yard sprinklers. If you have a yard sprinkler system, please be sure to have your backflow prevention devise (RPZ) in place. This helps prevent contaminates from getting into the drinking water. Whether you have a sprinkler system installed on your seasonal meter, or attached to your house meter, a test of your backflow preventer is a requirement. A customer has ten (10) business days from the date their irrigation / seasonal meter was unlocked or when the backflow preventer was installed for the sprinkler system on the house meter to submit the test.

Also, a reminder that customers who have a water softener or purification system are required to have an annual backflow preventer test. Businesses that have backflow preventers installed as a code requirement on their building's plumbing and fire systems must have them tested annually as well.

The Arkansas Department of Health requires that an ADH Certified Tester Technician perform the backflow test and the test report submitted to Centerton Utilities. There is a link on our website to the ADH tester list. Failure to provide the test will result in a disconnection of service which will only be restored after the customer provides the tester's name and test date to Centerton Utilities for verification.
